He is great grand son of the famous sarangi maestro Pt. Saraju Prasad Mishra and also is grand son of Pt. Mahadeo Prasad Mishra of Benaras Gharana . |

At a very young age Pankaj has created a new style of his own confirming him of a bright, Promising future. At a very early age Pankaj has performed as an accompaning and solo Artist in India like Dover Lane Music Conference,INDO OCCIDENTAL SIMBIOSIS CONCERTS IN KOLKATA,ITC Festival, Nikhil Banerjee Music Conference, Saltlake Music Festival,Sangeet Piyashi, Mahabalipuram Festival, Chidambaram Festival(TAMILNADU), Indo-Finnish Festival 1995, Indo- Japan Cultural Festival ,,are few names to mention……………………………………….....
His performances also include in some prestigious festivals in Abroad like….USTAD Ali Akbar Music Collage in Basel-Swizerland.. Raag Mala-Edmonton-Canada, The XIth Festival DE Musica I Danca Evissa Classica and Festa Asia in Spain, In Deutsche welle and W.D.R. He has also delivered his performances in Dance recitals with Pt. Birju Maharaj (The Kathak Exponent) Pt. Rammohon Maharaj,Pt.Krishna Mohan Maharaj, Pt. Vijay Shankar, Smt. Srilekha Mukherjee, Smt.Durga Arya of Germany.
He has also accompanied with the Ghazal King Gulam Ali ji, Ustad Mahmood Sabri of the Great Sabri Brothers of Pakistan.
Pankaj has been visiting Japan, Canada, Thailand, Nepal, Bangladesh & European countries like Germany, Italy, Holland, Belgium, Sweden, Spain, France, Austria, etc. from more than a decades.
He stood first position in the competition organized by West Bengal State Music Academy. He is also a regular accompanist to music in films, and television serials — the film “Raincoat” ,Iti Srikanta, being a feather in his cap.
Some of his CDs that are released are available in the market. Pankaj has accompanied in Cd”s with the famous vocalist Smt. Purnima Chowdhury, pakhawaj-player Sri Biplab Mondol and Tabla players Pt. Anindo Chatterjee, Pt. Sankha Chatterjee and Ustad Sabir Khan & many more are in the listed. In these records.Also lot of Cd”s are recorded in abroad by Pankaj with various artist of the world….
Pankaj has also performed in Akashwani Sangeet Sammelan 2007 in Dibrugarh - ASAM.
He is a regular approved & Graded solo & accompany artist of All India Radio & Television. He performs Doordarshan"s golden Jubily festival in Patna by Patna Doordarshan with Bidhushi Purnima Chaudhury & Smt.Mala Prashad in 2009.
At this young age Pankaj has attained a lot of experience, love & popularity not only for his performances but also for his sweet nature & pleasing personality. |
